The Origins---------------------------- Isick was first given as a nickname to me during my freshman year of high school by my swim teammates. It had become tradition for the upperclassmen to call the underclassmen something to both distinguish them for the herd of lowly freshman and, simultaneously, carve out their future success in the social meat market that we come to call high school. It was in this potentially hostile setting that my name, Isaac, was slightly altered to "Isick". Variations undoubtedly arose such a simplifying it to "sick" or "sack" or, my least favorite, "suck". However, none of the evolutions gave me quite as much pride as the original "Isick". There was something about that 'I', the proverbial signifier of what it means to be a human, to be an individual, "me" - 'I' - that drew me in.
The Evolution---------------------------- From there, the name Isick was used as my gamer alias. It became my second persona when scouring the digital environment, but I made sure to carry my values across in both lives. Things that would annoy Isaac, me - the person, annoyed Isick. The same as things that made me laugh were also humorous to Isick. The two beings are inseparable, except by states of existence. I find home to be in reality while Isick finds his nitch in the vast workings of cyberspace.
The Logo---------------------------- When I began tinkering with game modification it became evident a signature mark was needed to distinguish my work from the masses. Drawing on my alias for inspiration I developed the "Vomiting Head" logo which, after some revamps and touch-ups, can be found on every page of the website. And so Isick was given a face to match his character.
What does Isaac, Isick, and the logo, mean?----------------------------Think of the three of them as a trinity of sorts. Isaac created Isick and the logo, also created by Isaac, represents them both - the link between two synonyms. Its abstracted shape stands for creativity and evolution of what is "normal". The colors, though harmonious throughout the identity system, are a somewhat unique combination and represent individuality. The sleek and glossy design represents cleanliness and attention to detail. Above all, the logo as a whole conveys leadership and competitiveness. The proud, upturned, head tilts at such an angle to achieve maximum distance on the projectile vomit. Think of it as spewing forth awesomeness - if awesomeness came in liquid form. Lastly, the sanserif font represents a modern outlook on life. All of these values are held true throughout the daily life of Isaac Rothenbaum. It is in this respect that Isaac, Isick, and the logo are universally linked and representative of the whole person that is myself.
